Coriander is grown from seeds, for faster germination you can soak the seeds for 12-15 hours in water. The container need not be really deep one as coriander has shallow roots.

How to Grow Coriander in a Container
Fill the container with potting mix, just grab some whole coriander seeds, rub gently with your palm to split the whole seeds (this helps in faster germination) and spread it all over the container. Then water it without disturbing the sown seeds.
In a few days you can see coriander seeds germinating out of the soil. Sometimes it can take up to 20 days for seeds to germinate, be patient !! after coriander seeds have germinated all you need to do is to water them as needed.
How to Harvest
To harvest you can cut the mature stalks and leave the rest of the plant in place. When coriander plant starts flowering or a little before it you can harvest the whole plant.
