As the saying goes “life begins the day you start a garden’’, Mr. Suresh Subramanian from Viveknagar, firmly believes in the saying, so after retirement he thought of starting a garden to calm himself from the daily hustles of life.

So, he contacted my dream garden for the setup of his garden. Initially he started off only with the growbags growing root vegetables, leafy veggies and creepers. He got the wonderful yield from the vegetables and got more interest to expand as he was having large terrace.

He expanded his garden growing variety of fruit vegetables, flowers and creeper plants. Now he have fruits ranging from guava, sapota, banana, pomegranate to all the citrus species like lime, lemon, sweet lime, large lemon etc .

Earlier he used to grow veggies in growbags, but after seeing the yield, he shifted from growbags to planter boxes of all kind. Along with the planter boxes he also added some of the pots with flowering plants which helps in attracting the bees and butterflies which indirectly helps in pollination and adds beauty to his garden.

He also have greenhouse around his garden to control the climatic conditions and from the attack of monkeys. He had grown almost all the vegetables , fruit plants to make sure he get the continuous yield throughout the year for consumption of his family.

Mr Manju, a senior gardener of My Dream Garden is the regular person to maintain his garden. He maintains his garden by spraying medicines and applying nutrients to ensure the plants are free from all the pests and diseases.

Mr Suresh enjoys working in the garden as well helping the gardener to harvest the vegetables and go for resowing etc. He enjoys learning all the plant care operations from sowing to till harvesting.
